Before going vegetarian then vegan I used to enjoy eating fish and chips. Well after many years of 'going without' I am pleased to say we now have a number of places that offer vegan fish and chips in London.
The 'fish' comes in three types:
Battered - [Edit: Their business is up for sale!]
My favourite is Battered, who run a mobile trailer, currently located in Ely's Yard just off Brick lane, and offer really nice vegan fish & chips from 12noon daily. They use the wheat/soya blend of fish which I prefer. The 'fish' comes with chunk chips and mushy peas
Loving Hut (Archway)
This popular North London vegan Chinese restaurant also offers some traditional British dishes on it's menu, including the vegan fish and chips as you can see above in the picture.

Sutton & Sons
Sutton & Sons have been running traditional fish and chip shops for many years. They then opened London's first vegan fish & chip shop. Although this has now closed they have incorporated the full vegan menu at each of their other shops. They use banana blossom to get the fish-like texture.
